What is your church all about?

We are a historic Presbyterian church serving the people of greater Richmond, specifically the community called the Fan District. We value traditional worship, Biblical, Christ-centered theology, missions involvement, building community with each other, and living prayerfully before God and one another.

What do you believe?

We affirm with Christians throughout history the centrality of the Bible to all matters of faith and practice, and consider the creeds and confessions of the Church to be reliable expositions of what God calls us to believe and do. In addition, the Session of Grace Covenant adopted this statement of mission, which we believe encapsulates our call here in Richmond:

Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church exists for this purpose:
to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength,
to share the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
to enjoy the communion of the Holy Spririt,
and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Therefore, we covenant with God and each other:
to worship God faithfully and joyfully,
to learn and live by the Word of God,
to tell the good news of Jesus Christ in all the world,
to nurture and enlarge the fellowship of the church,
and to serve human need with sympathy and compassion.

What does a Sunday morning look like?

Each Sunday morning we gather at 9:30am to learn about God and his Word. We have classes for all ages, so you have no excuse for staying away! Since we assume you are probably an adult, we should mention that we have excellent growth opportunities for adults. For specifics on what adult classes are being offered, click here. We also have creative, energetic classes for kids of all ages. Click here for more.

After this we come together to worship starting at 11am in our sanctuary. We love and praise God in the context of a classic, Reformed order of worship. Our worship service has been on the radio since the 1920's, making it one of the longest running radio programs in the nation. We broadcast each Sunday at 11:00 am on WLES 590 AM. If you would like to see a bulletin to get a feel for how we worship together, please do so by clicking here.

How can I connect with others at your church?

We enjoy life together and we want others to share in the joy of Christian community. We therefore offer regular opportunities to connect with each other. Whether that is after worship over coffee and cookies, around the Wednesday night dinner table, or on a couch in the home of a Community Group leader, we want you to connect with others in meaningful ways.

How are you serving our community, and how can I get involved?

We are committed to identifying needs in our city and working together to address those needs. We are actively involved in feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, tutoring underprivileged children, and seeking God’s justice in our city.

We would love for you to join us as we serve and love our neighbors! Click here for more detailed information on how you can get involved.

I have children. How will they grow at Grace Covenant?

We love children and we believe they are every bit as much a part of the community of faith as adults! That’s why we take the care and nurture of your children seriously and expect them to grow as disciples of Jesus. We are also committed to doing this with energy and creativity, and this is why we have recently renovated many of our Sunday school classrooms to provide the best possible learning environments for your children. Come check us out; you won’t be disappointed!

Where is your campus located?

If you were to ask us the address of the church we’d have to give you about 400, because the church is the people. But, if you must know, we gather to learn, worship, and fellowship at our campus at 1627 Monument Avenue, between the Lee and Stuart monuments.
